December

What a busy month we had at Redcourt!

8th December – Barbara’s family held a birthday party in the lounge, in which the family paid for an entertainer to come and sing to you.  Everyone enjoyed the afternoon which gave Barbara’s extended family an opportunity to all get together and celebrate Barbara’s birthday.

15th December – We held our Christmas Party which we hope you all enjoyed celebrating with us.  The kitchen team did us proud in putting together a delicious buffet, and thank you to Pauline for organising the live entertainment!

Carol Service – Pauline organised a number of carol services which we all enjoyed, our thanks to Mossely Hill and Wellington Road Church for coming along.

31st December – We had our very own New Year’s Party which of course included live music!  The theme of the party was black and white, and all of the men wore bow ties for the occassion.  We hope any visitors ejoyed it as much as our residents!

Christmas Decorations – There have been so many lovely comments from visitors on the decorations that were on display throughout the communal area of the home.  As part of an activity exercise, Pauline encouraged our residents to help make these decorations, which I’m sure you will agree looked beautiful!

New Clothes – Can you please check your relatives clothing as we have a growing collection of new clothes that have been brought to the home within the past month, but sadly there are no names on the clothing.  If you cannot find an item of clothing that you bought as a present for you relative, please ask to speak to the laundry staff.  If the clothing is not claimed by the end of February we will have to dispose of the clothing as we do not have the space to keep them.

Hair brushed and combs – Can you please ensure that you check your relative’s bedroom to see if they have a hair brush or comb belonging to them, if they do not have a brush or comb can you please purchase one.  Thank you in advance.

Environmental Health – We had an unannounced inspection from Liverpool City Council’s Environmental Health Team which we passed, meaning we maintainted our 5 star rating.  A massive thank you to our brilliant kitchen team!

Liverpool City Council Inspection – We had a planned inspection from the city council, the purpose of which was to ensure that the home was complying to the contract that we have with the council. The team spent the day reviewing some residents care plans and staff files, as well as ensuring we are completing our legal paperwork in a timely manner. The team did speak to friends and family that were visiting on the day of the inspection. We haven’t yet received any official report, however initial feedback was positive.

We hope you all had a great day!

Redecorating update

As you can see we have nearly finished redecorating the main dining room. We do hope you like the themed wall paper on the back wall, we just need to replace the skirting board and then we are all done! We have replaced the curtains in the main dining room, as well as the lounge, and menu boards have also been relocated to the main dining room.

We have redecorated the family room and replaced the curtains, we are just waiting on new dining room chairs to complete the look!

All the bathrooms and toilets have now been redecorated.

At the moment we are in the middle of redecorating certain bedrooms which have become tired looking.

Redcourt is such a big home, when one area is complete there is always another which needs doing!
